T20 World Cup 2026: Abhishek Sharma Discharged From Hospital — Doubtful for India vs Namibia, Tilak Varma Reveals
New Delhi, Feb 11, 2026 — India’s explosive opener Abhishek Sharma has been discharged from a hospital in Delhi after being treated for a stomach infection, teammate Tilak Varma confirmed ahead of India’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A clash with Namibia.
Sharma, who missed India’s practice session and struggled during the opener against the USA, was admitted earlier this week with a stomach-related illness that raised doubts about his fitness for the upcoming game.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Varma said Abhishek “has been discharged and is doing well,” but added that the final call on his availability will be made on match day based on how he feels.
The left-handed batter’s participation remains uncertain for India vs Namibia on Thursday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, with team management closely monitoring his recovery.

Meanwhile, Varma also confirmed that pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is likely to return after missing the first game due to illness, providing a bowling boost for India.
Cricket fans will be watching closely on match day for the final update on Abhishek’s status as India aims to stay unbeaten in the T20 World Cup campaign.
